Roger and Shelly
Life must move on in this time of uncertainty, and newlyweds Roger and Shelly wanted to welcome friends to their new home (which isn't new for Shelly as they moved into one of her vacant rental spaces) hosting a socially distanced champagne brunch. It was nice catching up with friends face to face rather than with a Zoom meeting.
Roger is a naturalized U.S. citizen, originally from Australia. He's a tall, athletic specimen, and he does enjoy showing off his culinary chops, and regaling his guests with entertaining stories.
Shelly is quite the gourmet herself with a taste for asian flavors. She lived an expatriates lifestyle on the island nation of Saipan and incorporates those influences in her cooking. (Fun fact, her twin sister, Stacy, is a professional chef). Smart, funny and generous, she maintains strong connections with her friends in Saipan. When the island was brutally his with tropical storms recently, she collected essential items to send back to her former home.
Nichole
Nichole claims that her eyes are always closed when her photo is taken, and sure enough, in a lot of the photos I took on this day and previously at other events, they indeed are. As you can see, I did prevail and managed to capture her soulful eyes. Nichole is an accountant but she doesn't fit the stereo type of the dry bean counter; she is a free spirit with an adventurous soul.
Wendy
Even though her glass in the photo above is half empty, Wendy is really a glass mostly full type. She avidly pursues outdoor activities and has a great sense of adventure and a great sense of humor, but you know, those piercing blues eyes can see right through your BS.
Donna
Donna is crafty. I'm not sure she's crafty in a nefarious way, but she has a talent for creating treasure out of someone else's junk, taking seemingly mundane found pieces and turning them into objects of art. She's also an accomplished business woman, devoted mother and grandmother...(I still don't believe that).
