This is my mom. She seems to be doing well through all of this, but she just wants to be able to get her hair done.  And she was craving her favorite bread.  The Japanese market she frequents near her house moved and it hasn't open it's bakery, so I went to the store in Costa Mesa and bought her some bread as a Mother's Day gift.  Yeah, big spender, I know, but she really loved that I got her the bread which she hadn't had in over a month.
Taking these photos was much harder than I thought.  Being so close to her in the view finder, I found myself going through memories of my life with her with each click of the shutter, and again, I felt a profound wave of emotions sweep over me as I edited the photos, and still, even as I'm writing this.  To add to the heaviness, whenever I visit my mom, I keep my mask on, because I am exposed to much more than she is and I don't want to risk her health.  I know it's hard on her too, not being able to see my face, but I want her to stick around for a while.
By the way, she gave me an early Father's Day gift; a 3 pound rasher of bacon, and I love it!
